Responsible way to re-certification ПДФ Штампај Е-пошта

After the Certification of business-friendly environment, which the City of Leskovac was one of the first to get in 2010, the process of re-certification has to be successfully carried out which means that it has to fulfill the 12 conditions set by "NALED" - The National Alliance for Local Economic Development.

“The period of two years has expired and now we have to master all the procedures in order to re-gain this important certification”,  said Goran Cvetanovic, the Mayor of Leskovac, at the meeting of all primary and secondary teams for re-certification that have 60 days to meet the requirements and tasks from the set procedures.

This is the process that promotes standards of effective and transparent local administration, allows the review of service quality and information which the local government can give to entrepreneurs and investors.

The program was launched in 2007 by NALED in cooperation with the USAID and supported by the Ministry of Energy, Economy and Regional Development of the Republic of Serbia. Mayor Cvetanovic said that certification guaranteed that the potential investors would get quality information and services through the 12 criteria which should facilitate their work.

Cities and municipalities which obtain certification are classified as part of a selected group of local communities in Serbia that are essentially dedicated to a long-term development of economy and which succeed to contribute the development of business due to reforms of the city government.

In this way, these cities become qualified for continuous support of ministries, institutions, embassies and potential donors.

Creating a positive environment means not only financial benefits and subsidies but also the attention of investors which is focused on the quality of location, speed of information and communication with local authorities, as well as the opportunity for possible partnership. “Expertise is appreciated more and knowledge should be above politics, so I request responsibility of all teams in order for the city of Leskovac to re-gain the Certificate of business-friendly environment”, the Mayor said.

He also concluded that all team members should do their part of work and he was sure that we would successfully do the re certification in order to get the certificate as a city of favorable business environment.
